L'Oréal revolutionizes skin care with new BioPrint device!

At CES® 2025 today, the L’Oréal Group presented its latest innovation: the “L’Oréal Cell BioPrint”. This portable lab-on-a-chip device revolutionizes skin care by allowing consumers to perform a personalized skin analysis in just five minutes. Using advanced proteomics, the device determines the skin's biological age and reactivity to various ingredients, helping users find suitable products for their individual skin needs, reports OTS.

This innovative technology is based on a unique partnership with Korean start-up NanoEnTek, which provides microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology. Barbara Lavernos, deputy CEO of the L’Oréal Group, emphasizes: “With ‘Cell BioPrint’ we offer consumers the opportunity to better understand their skin based on specific biomarkers.” The procedure simply requires applying a facial strip and entering it into a cartridge, after which the device starts analysis while taking images and completing a short questionnaire. Loud Forbes 'Cell BioPrint' is expected to be piloted in the Asian market during 2025.

With a market estimated to be worth $125 billion by 2024, consumer interest in tailored skin care is growing. The precise analysis provided by the “L’Oréal Cell BioPrint” could help consumers more effectively find the products that meet their individual needs and waste less time on experimental purchases. L’Oréal highlights that almost 80% of users say they have to try different products before finding the right one, highlighting the need for such innovative solutions.
