Wild Wings conjure up a comeback: spectacular win against Frankfurt!
In a spectacular ice hockey game on Friday evening, the Schwenninger Wild Wings turned around a deficit and secured victory with a 7:3 win against the Löwen Frankfurt. On home ice, in the adventure park, the Wild Wings took the lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Alexander Karachun, which was deflected unstoppably by Arkadiusz Dziambor. But the guests from Frankfurt reacted quickly: Maxim Matushkin equalized just three minutes later. The intense game continued in the first third, with Frankfurt taking the lead in the 13th minute with a goal from Daniel Pfaffengut, and Linus Fröberg increasing the lead to 3-1 in the 17th minute.
Turnaround in the second third
In the middle section the Wild Wings showed their fighting side. Zach Senyshyn scored his 15th goal of the season and reduced the score to 2:3. A short time later, Karachun equalized to 3-3, which shifted the momentum to the hosts. Despite several penalties and intense game situations, the Wild Wings did not let up, which was finally rewarded in the third period. Boaz Bassen and Tyson Spink gave the Swans a 5-3 lead before Phil Hungerecker scored the sixth goal for Schwenningen on the power play. Kyle Platzer scored a goal into the empty net to make the final score 7:3, which meant Frankfurt's fifth defeat in a row.
