Mayer dreams of the comeback: Ski World Cup in Saalbach will be his big spectacle!

The popular triple Olympic champion Matthias Mayer is ready for a sporty comeback at the ski world championship in Saalbach 2025. In bright sunshine and optimal conditions, the 34-year-old tested the slopes on the legendary Zwölferkogel. Despite his work as a forerunner, Mayer currently sees himself more as a "pleasure ski driver" because he has explained: "I have no competition, my opponent is the mountain," says his modest assessment, like OE24 reported.

As the official ambassador of the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships, Mayer will not only play a central role on the slopes, but also away from the competitions. His anticipation for the upcoming competitions is huge, and he was enthusiastic: "The World Cup will definitely be a spectacle, and I'm particularly looking forward to that". Mayer, who celebrated golden success in the departure and Super-G competition in Saalbach in 2015, is convinced that this event will set new sporting and organizational standards. The spectators can look forward to an impressive show, as well as Saalbach2025 emphasized.
