Franz Stärk, the first German “Golden Bachelor”, has the courage at the age of 73 to go on TV in search of true love. This comes exactly nine years after his painful separation from his wife, who left him after 25 years together during a treatment for another man. Stark describes the separation as a bitter shock and a time full of sadness. “I didn't want it like that and of course it was a shock for me,” says the ex-husband, who was able to reflect on the interpersonal challenges in his long marriage. Once again he emphasizes: “We were both very focused on the family,” which ultimately led to them losing contact. However, the 73-year-old has now made peace with the past and remembers the “wonderful times” in his marriage.
A new chance in Crete
The new show starts on December 3rd on RTL+, in which Franz Stärk is looking for his dream woman among 18 candidates, all over 60 years old. He goes to the beautiful island of Crete, where he distributes roses week after week. Stärk is convinced that this will be a “great story” because nothing like this has ever happened in his age group. He is looking forward to getting to know remarkable women and emphasizes: “It is fascinating how much potential life experience and wisdom they will bring with them,” as RTL also reported. After twelve years of being single and a proud grandfather, he now hopes to spend the second half of his life at the side of a special woman. Viewers can look forward to a total of nine exciting episodes that document his search for love.
