Pfalztheater: A brilliant new start and the return of culture!

The reopening of the large house in the Pfalztheater was celebrated with a brilliant start. All the newly upholstered seats were occupied and the artists put on an impressive performance that captivated the audience. The artistic director Johannes Beckmann led the traditional inauguration with a triple tap on the new floor, followed by a motivating “Toi Toi Toi”. The anticipation of returning to the stage was palpable, as Beckmann warmly welcomed the audience and celebrated their return to the “living room” of the theater. Loud Weekly newspaper reporter The evening was characterized by a positive atmosphere and an impressive outlook for the coming season.

Premiere of “Countess Maritsa”

On December 14th, the curtain rose on the operetta “Gräfin Mariza”, which, with its Hungarian coloring and spirited Csárdá sounds, is the first production in the newly renovated Great House. Despite high expectations, the premiere was not sold out, raising questions about the popularity and quality of the production. As Rhine Palatinate reported, there is a lot at stake for the Pfalztheater: it should not only be a success, but also attract audiences again after the previous season often had weak visitor numbers.

The atmosphere in the theater was electric and full of anticipation for the upcoming performances, which included the sharp satire “Jeeps,” which premiered on November 8th. The entire season promises a variety of emotional and entertaining productions that are intended to touch the audience's hearts and make them think. The return to the stage is seen as an important step for the Pfalztheater to build on old successes and promote cultural exchange in the region.
