Revolution in the blockchain sector: Movement launches mainnet beta!
The Movement Network Foundation today successfully launched the Movement Mainnet Beta and Token Generation Event (TGE) for $MOVE, marking a significant advancement for the first blockchain-based solution built on Move technology and interoperating with Ethereum. These innovations enable infrastructure providers to implement essential network components such as follower nodes and RPC nodes. In this first phase, particular emphasis is placed on synchronizing the network and validating security measures. Movement's innovative technology promises faster transaction completions, putting it in direct competition with existing Ethereum scaling solutions that often require several minutes to days to confirm.
With the launch of the $MOVE token through the MoveDrop program, the Movement Foundation plans to distribute up to 1 billion tokens to the community. The goal is to build a community-oriented network structure in which token holders actively participate in securing and managing the network. According to Rushi Manche, co-founder of Movement Labs, Movement is differentiated by its connection to the Ethereum blockchain and the ability for developers to work on both Move and Ethereum bases. Another key advantage of the Move programming language is its increased security, which is said to eliminate over 90% of the most common attack vectors, forming the basis for secure smart contracts, such as in Movement Labs blog is explained.
Innovative technologies for the future
The Movement Network's new modules, which act as customizable rollups, enable robust interoperability so that different applications can be seamlessly connected. These rollups can be individually configured to meet specific needs in areas such as DeFi or gaming. The use of Move technology allows for quick final confirmation of transactions within the network, significantly improving the user experience. This progress is reflected, among other things, in the use of so-called atomic cross-chain transactions, which enable secure interaction between different blockchains.
To celebrate the launch of the mainnet beta, an NFT competition will also be launched where the community can create the official artwork to commemorate this historic moment. The winner will have the opportunity to be the first NFT minted by Movement and will also receive a $1,000 prize.
