Last weekend, a police stop in Wuppertal escalated dramatically: a driver who had fled a parked vehicle with stolen money raced straight towards the officers. They had to fire shots at the escaping car out of self-defense, like that Day24 reported. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the police initially observed the suspect stealing coins from a trunk on Auf dem Johannisberg. Despite the request to check, the perpetrator continued his journey undeterred.
The police reacted immediately and initiated a search, supported by a police helicopter. But the perpetrators escaped in an unknown direction. According to police reports, fortunately no one was injured by the shots. The incident is now being investigated by the Hagen police headquarters in order to clarify the background and how the attack occurred.
