Vandalism shock in Stuttgart-West: butcher shop attacked again with butyric acid!

In Stuttgart-West, a butcher's shop fell victim to a suspected butyric acid attack for the third time this year. On Thursday night, a resident alerted the police after smelling a strong, unpleasant smell. The officers discovered that butyric acid was being distributed in the sales area of the Blessing & Kurz butcher shop, causing significant damage amounting to several thousand euros. These incidents appear to target animal rights activists as suspects, as similar patterns of attacks were recorded in May and last week SWR reports.

Repeated attacks with butyric acid

The butcher's shop on Kronbergstrasse has been the target of repeated attacks in recent months. In May, the attackers not only left behind butyric acid, but also daubed the walls with slogans such as “Meat is Murder” and left the abbreviation “ALF”. Back then, the butcher estimated the damage at up to 30,000 euros. A similar incident also occurred last week, in which the perpetrators broke the shop window and again distributed butyric acid in the sales room Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports. The butcher shop therefore had to be temporarily closed again.

The police have started an investigation and are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators. Anyone interested is asked to call 0711/8990-5778. The serial crimes raise questions about the motive of the attackers and officials are investigating whether there is a connection between the incidents.
