Tragic end: Missing man from Wattens found lifeless on the banks of the Inn

A tragic incident shocked the community in Wattens: On March 13, 2025, a 28-year-old man was reported missing from a care facility. The impaired man had planned to take the train to visit his father in Kramsach, but he did not arrive there. According to an initial investigation, he could have gotten on the wrong train at Fritzens/Wattens station and headed towards Oberland, as the Tyrol State Police Department reports.

After events on the afternoon of March 13th, when the last known location of the missing person was found at Rietz train station around 3:15 p.m., the search was initially unsuccessful. The missing man's worried father turned to the public and asked for help. Search operation and sad end

In the early hours of March 14th, the first indications were received that the man might have been seen in Haiming. Expanded search measures were immediately initiated. Unfortunately, the search led to a devastating discovery a short time later: the 28-year-old was found lifeless on the banks of the Inn.
