Search for the missing 85-year-old in Vöcklabruck continues!
In the Vöcklabruck district, the emergency services have been in use since December 27th to find an 85-year-old pensioner who is missing. The senior was brought home by one of his sons on December 25th, but since then he has remained unreachable. This meant that the relatives finally informed the police. So far, the large -scale search with around 120 emergency services, which includes the police, fire brigade, the Austrian rescue dog brigade and the Red Cross. In addition to floor patrols, drones and the flight police also checked the surroundings with thermal imaging cameras, whereby the main focus was on the forest area in which the man went for a walk every day. The missing person suffers from dementia and is described as 170 to 175 cm tall, with full gray hair, a full beard and glasses. He wears dark clothes. Notes on the search can be submitted directly to the police, as Volksblatt reported.
Corruption accusation against police officers in Vöcklabruck
In a scandal running in parallel, a police officer from the same district is currently being accused of creating and using fake criminal tickets. The Federal Office for Combating Corruption (BAK) has started the investigation, since the officer is apparently said to have put the income from these false organ penalty orders in his own pocket. These incidents are likely to have led to its exemption in October. According to oe24 there is currently no precise information about the sum that he could have misappropriated, or the number of fake criminal tickets, since the procedure is still running.
