Dispute at the Advent market: man pulls out airsoft gun – police strike!
In a dramatic incident at the Advent market in Lambach, a 47-year-old exposed his airsoft pistol after a verbal argument. The altercation, which took place on the night of December 1, left passers-by reacting with alarm as the man pointed the gun at two other people. Courageous witnesses intervened, disarmed the aggressive man and immediately alerted the police, reported MyDistrict.
The officers who arrived searched the man and found not only another airsoft gun in his backpack, but also two knives. These dangerous discoveries led to a temporary weapons ban and the 47-year-old was released. Such incidents shed light on the careless handling of so-called “pretend weapons,” which are often not immediately recognizable as toys. In a similar incident in the Rhine district of Neuss, a 14-year-old was caught by the police after shooting with an airsoft gun in a park. He was not aware that handling such weapons in public is prohibited Press portal reported.
Both cases highlight the potential danger posed by toys that look deceptively real. With these incidents, the police make it clear that carrying fake weapons can have serious consequences and, in an emergency, poses a significant risk to both those carrying them and the public. This is especially true in situations where officers must initially assume a real weapon is present for their own protection.
