Shock in Verden and Osterholz: attacks, accidents and vandalism!

There were several incidents in the Verden district on December 10, 2024 that attracted the attention of the police. In Achim, unknown perpetrators broke into a residential building and stole jewelry worth several thousand euros. The burglars took advantage of the residents' brief absence between 11:10 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. and disappeared undetected. The police are asking for information from witnesses who have noticed anything suspicious and asking them to contact the Achim police news.de reported.

Another incident occurred in Kirchlinteln, where a 13-year-old cyclist was hit by a car on a zebra crossing and seriously injured. The driver, a 56-year-old man, overlooked the young person as he drove his vehicle on the L171 towards Verden. The girl was taken to hospital, while property damage is estimated at around 4,600 euros. Another child was also slightly injured in an accident on the A1 when a VW collided with a truck.

Security tips against watch theft

Police are also warning of an increasing number of thefts of valuable watches, while the number of break-ins in the district has increased. Thieves are particularly active in upscale environments such as hotels or shops and specifically observe the watches of passers-by. Security experts recommend taking a close look at your surroundings and avoiding wearing jewelry or expensive watches, especially when going to less secure areas. These recommendations were made by the Watch cosmos published and emphasize the importance of registering watches and storing the documents safely in order to be able to trace them more easily in the event of theft.
