A 33-year-old man from St. Pölten evaded a police check in Traisen and then continued on foot. The previous speed measurement on the B 20 showed that he was driving too fast. After a manhunt, the fugitive was caught 90 minutes later in Rotheau. The man confessed to having consumed drugs, which was confirmed by a medical officer. During a search of his apartment, police seized 13 grams of marijuana and an indoor plantation with eight flowering cannabis plants. As a result of these incidents, his driver's license was revoked and he received several charges reports the Crown.
In addition, a 50-year-old Czech man was stopped in a speed check in Kleinzell after he was clocked at 139 km/h in a 70 km/h section. His driver's license was also confiscated and a report was filed with the district administration.

General trends in drug crime
Drug crime trends are worrying. According to that Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), a total of 346,877 drug offenses were registered in 2022, which represents an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous year.
