In a climbing hall in Perchtoldsdorf near Vienna, a serious accident occurred when an 83-year-old pensioner from Vienna-Brigittenau plunged around five meters during his attempted climbing. The incident happened when the man tried to hang a rope into an intermediate protection while climbing a route with the "6+" difficulty level. An emergency helicopter was immediately alerted, which brought the injured to the AKH. According to the police, the accident is now being further investigated by the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor, as OE24.at
