In a shocking incident in Vienna-Wieden, a dramatic incident related to domestic violence occurred. A 50-year-old Italian man seriously injured a 58-year-old woman in her apartment on Friday evening before falling to his death from a window during a police operation, as the Volksblatt reported. The woman had confronted the man, who had been living with her for a few weeks, on suspicion of stealing her cash and threatened to report him. This led to a violent confrontation while neighbors alerted the police after hearing cries for help.
The police managed to get into the apartment, but the man had already climbed onto the window sill and subsequently fell into the depths. Despite immediate attempts at resuscitation, he died at the scene of the accident. The injured woman was taken to hospital but her life is not in danger, although she suffered serious head injuries. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office has ordered an autopsy of the deceased and the investigation is still ongoing.
