On January 8, 2025, a series of burglaries was solved in Kempten im Allgäu, for which a group of young men are believed to be responsible. These break-ins, which have occurred since the beginning of 2024, were primarily focused on cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
Police have identified a 19-year-old as the main perpetrator, while a 17-year-old is considered an accomplice. Both are classified as intensive offenders and assigned to the drug environment. In total, the police are investigating the group for six completed and one attempted burglaries, which were primarily aimed at local suppliers and gas stations. Three snack machines were also allegedly attacked.
The suspects are said to have used iron bars to break shop windows or glass access doors. The loot was taken away in backpacks or bags. Some of the stolen goods were consumed, while other parts were sold or given away. Thanks to statements from residents, the 17-year-old was arrested red-handed by the police. Both suspects are now in custody.

The material damage amounts to around 15,000 euros, while the value of the loot is estimated at around 6,000 euros. The 19-year-old is also held responsible for the destruction of a bus stop on Uhlandstrasse. Some of the stolen goods have now been found by the police and returned to the shops.
