In a shocking incident in Hamberge, Schleswig-Holstein, a four-year-old daughter was seriously injured by a dog while on a walk with her mother. The attack occurred on Friday, November 29th, between 2 and 2:30 p.m. on Sandberg Street. According to police, an unknown black dog that resembles a Rottweiler jumped at the child from behind and caused him to fall. The girl fell with her head on the asphalt and was then bitten on the back of the head by the dog.

The girl's mother was eventually able to drive the dog away. The dog then fled and so far there is no evidence of his owner. The Reinfeld police have now started a call for witnesses and are asking for relevant information on 04533/79340-0 or via email to Reinfeld.PSt@polizei.landsh.de in order to track down the dog owner or handler NDR reported.

The search for answers

Although the girl was seriously injured, the child's condition remains unclear. The incident not only raises questions about the safety of children on the side of the roads, but also about the responsibility of dog owners.
