Excessive violence in the stadium: Over 200 injured after scenes of chaos!

On a harrowing night in November, violent riots broke out after a soccer match between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv, resulting in five Israeli fans being injured and requiring hospitalization. The attacks, carried out by a group of aggressors, are linked to a call on social networks calling for attacks on Jews. Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof described the incident as “outright anti-Semitism” and expressed concern about the rise in anti-Semitic violence in many countries, particularly in light of the conflict in Gaza. According to the police, between 20 and 30 other people also suffered minor injuries, which had a lasting impact on the atmosphere around the sporting event reported the Kleine Zeitung.

Massive riots in Frankfurt

Another violent chapter occurred at the Bundesliga game between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart, where the mood in the stands escalated brutally. Over 200 people were injured, including numerous police officers and security forces. According to reports, up to 400 supporters of the “Frankfurt risk fan scene” took part in the riots when fans attacked a civilian employee of the organizer who had apparently stopped a ticketless person. Police reported significant damage from bottles and pyrotechnics thrown by fans as N-TV reported.

The SOKO 2511 investigative commission was formed to investigate the incidents behind the northwest curve. However, there are significant differences between police statements and fans' reports. The Frankfurter Fanhilfe criticized the police tactics as disproportionate and reported horrendous scenes during the operation, in which even uninvolved spectators were affected. The police, in turn, rejected allegations and plan to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the events to determine the exact circumstances of the violent outbreaks.
