ATM blown up in Obernburg – police are looking for witnesses!
On the night of December 8th to 9th, 2024, two criminal incidents occurred that caused a stir in the region. First, a green VW parked on Dorfstrasse in Willroth was badly scratched by unknown perpetrators. The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators. However, there is currently no concrete evidence of the perpetrators, and the Strassenhaus police station has initiated an investigation. At the same time, an explosive crime occurred in Obernburg: an ATM was completely destroyed by an explosion at around 1:30 a.m. Residents reported a loud bang and found the machine on the corner of Ferienstrasse and Lauterhofstrasse in ruins. The unknown perpetrators fled in a dark car towards Mömlingen. The police immediately launched intensive searches, which also included the use of a helicopter. The exact amount of possible loss of money and possible damage to adjacent buildings are still unclear.
