In Neumarkt, a wave of accidents involving fugitives is causing unrest. On December 4, 2024, a concrete post of a garden fence in Reichertshofen was knocked over by an unknown vehicle. The damage amounts to around 1,800 euros. There is no information about who is responsible, which means the police are relying on tips from the public. A fugitive who caused the accident is also being sought for another incident that happened between Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon in Kiefernweg, who damaged a 66-year-old's parked Fiat, causing damage of around 1,000 euros Upper Palatinate-current reported.
Multiple incidents on the same day
On the same day, September 4, 2024, further accidents with unknown perpetrators occurred in Neumarkt and the surrounding area. An unknown person damaged a traffic island near the entrance to Tyrolsberg, with the damage estimated at around 500 euros. Vehicle parts that indicate a VW Caddy or Touran (built between 2011 and 2015) were secured. A KIA that was parked in a parking lot at Amberger Straße 82 between 10:00 and 10:45 a.m. was also hit by an unknown driver and had damage worth 300 euros.
