Wardenburg, Deutschland - in Wardenburg-Höven, a devastating fire took a tragic turn on a riding facility on the evening of December 6th. The fire brigades were alerted at 10:48 p.m. when the large riding hall opened with stables. When they arrived, the emergency services found that the fire was already in full swing and that immediate measures had to be taken to bring the fourteen horses to safety. Despite all its efforts, a horse could not be saved and died of smoke poisoning, such as reported.

The extinguishing work dragged on until around 6 a.m. and required the use of around 120 to 140 firefighters from various surrounding weirs. The riding hall, which took an area of around 750 square meters, burned down completely. In addition, the fire spread to an adjacent residential building that was luckily uninhabited, the police said. The total damage is estimated at around 300,000 euros, and the investigation into the cause of the fire is already running, as reported.
Overall, it was a dramatic incident that caused the fate of a horse and considerable material damage. The affected emergency services already provided valuable help at night by getting eight of the fourteen horses outdoors. With the takeover of the fire investigations, the cause of the fire is now being sought.
