On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, three people broke into a company building on Johann-Philipp-Reiss-Straße in Backnang, Rems-Murr district. The break-in occurred around 2:10 a.m., with the perpetrators setting off an alarm upon entry. The police then launched a large-scale search, which also involved the use of a police helicopter. How Stuttgart News reported, the three suspects, aged 31, 32 and 34, were quickly arrested at separate locations around the crime scene. A decision will be made about their whereabouts later in the day.
Burglary crime is growing around Backnang
The number of burglaries in the Rems-Murr district has risen sharply in recent weeks. In addition to the incident in Backnang, numerous other break-ins were reported in which the loot amounted to several thousand euros. In Waiblingen, for example, unknown people broke into a residential building between Tuesday morning and Saturday afternoon and stole jewelry and cash. Loud Stuttgart newspaper There were also break-ins in Fellbach, in which the perpetrators stole cash and jewelry worth 2,000 euros.
In order to counteract the increasing risk of burglary, the police recommend that doors and windows are always locked and that you report any suspicious observations immediately. They also recommend installing security measures such as mechanical fuses and alarm systems to better protect the home.
