Drama on the slope: German tobogganer crashes into the edge of the slope!

A dramatic tobogganing accident caused horror in Ehrwald on January 10, 2025. At around 8:12 p.m. there was a collision between several German citizens on a toboggan run. A 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy had to stop due to the situation when suddenly two other toboggans, a 22-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy, collided with full force against their toboggan. The 17-year-old suffered a severe thigh fracture and was immediately taken to the BKH Reutte by ambulance. The 22-year-old suffered from a collarbone injury and received medical attention in a nearby surgery, while the rest of those involved fortunately remained uninjured, according to the Tyrol police reported.

Another tragic incident occurred on February 8, 2025, when a 41-year-old German was seriously injured in an accident at Hochwurzen. Around 9:30 p.m., he left a ski lodge with friends and noticed a toboggan that had been left behind rolling down the slope. In order to catch up with the abandoned toboggan, the man followed it, but he collided with the edge of the piste on piste 33, which was closed to toboggans, and was left seriously injured. A touring skier heard the impact and administered first aid before making an emergency call. The German was eventually flown to UKH Salzburg in a rescue helicopter, the police said in a press release announced.
