Brutal murder trial: Young victims, powerful defendants in Mülheim!

A gruesome murder case of a 15-year-old student has been uncovered in Cologne's Mülheim, shocking the public. In a trial that has sparked intense social debate, four young men are standing before the district court. They are accused of killing the student with multiple stab wounds in March after he incriminated one of them. The alleged commissioner of the murder, a 27-year-old, vehemently claims to have had nothing to do with the killing. Despite his statements, the public prosecutor's office places the responsibility on all four defendants who are charged with murder with base motives, such as Cologne City Gazette reported.

The brutal details

The fatal incident occurred on the night of March 10th. According to the statements in the trial, the 19-year-old, who was “asked” by the 27-year-old to “strike a blow”, is said to have finally carried out the knife attack. The 27-year-old, who worked as a "security guard" for the younger defendant's drug trade, made it clear that he had nothing to do with the violence. During his statement, he said he was shocked when the 19-year-old stabbed the victim. Instead of a “rub-down,” as he called it, it was supposed to be a “black eye.” But it turned deadly and led to the four defendants abandoning the boy's body on a small island until it was found by police six hours later after the teen's father reported him missing.

The case also kept investigators busy because the 15-year-old may have owed money and at the same time the defendants felt betrayed by him. Another shocking aspect is the statement of the victim's father, who was warned by the perpetrators shortly before the murder. It remains unclear whether his testimony will play a role during the trial, as police did not take reports of the threat seriously and took no action. The trial is expected to last until January, with several days of proceedings, although parts of the proceedings may take place in camera as some of the defendants are minors, such as the Review online reported.
