Bloody act at the main train station: 22-year-old stabs ticket seller!

A shocking incident occurred at Dortmund Central Station when a 22-year-old Syrian attacked a ticket seller with a knife on Thursday. The attack happened in the afternoon peak after the 56-year-old employee pointed out to the young man that he was missing a photo for the monthly pass he had applied for. The attacker then became angry and left the store, but returned shortly afterwards and immediately stabbed the victim, whose life was now in danger and was being treated in hospital. This was reported by the  Bild newspaper.

Previous incidents and escalation

Recent events are not the first problems with the aggressive young man. According to further reports, the Syrian had previously attracted negative attention when he harassed travelers in the main train station. He was checked by the federal police on November 22nd and had to accept a dismissal, which he ignored. Despite his obedience to the police, his behavior became increasingly aggressive, which led to his arrest. The identity check revealed that the man was in the country illegally. He also has a history of disorderly conduct, the investigation showed. Officers eventually took him into police custody for further action after he resisted arrest, reports said Panoramic view of Unna.

The combination of the brutal knife attack and the repeated harassing incidents sheds an alarming light on the security situation at Dortmund Central Station. The incident has brought the homicide squad into action, while police continue to investigate and shed light on the background to the young man's behavior.
