A dramatic incident has occurred in Bad Ischl that is keeping the local police on their toes. On November 25, 2024, around 5:30 a.m., two masked men broke into the house of a 44-year-old owner via an unlocked basement door. While he slept on his couch, his hands were tied, his mouth was gagged and his eyes were blindfolded with tape. The brutal perpetrators demanded money and beat him when he refused to reveal the code to his safe. He was ultimately locked in the boiler room and suffered serious injuries. After about 45 minutes the nightmare was over, but the traumatized man now urgently needs the public's help.

The police have offered a reward of 10,000 euros for relevant information to solve the crime. This was done by both ORF OÖ as well as from My district reported. The authorities are asking anyone who observed anything during the crime or can provide information to come forward. The information is treated as strictly confidential in order to protect the witnesses and the investigation.
