Vienna shows progress: 93.4% of projects successfully implemented!
The red-pink coalition in Vienna impressively shows that it is continuing to work on implementing its ambitious projects. According to the government monitor published today, over 93.4 percent of the planned projects have been implemented or are being implemented since the beginning of the term. Josef Taucher, chairman of the SPÖ club in the town hall, emphasizes that with this success Vienna has once again been recognized as the most transparent municipality in Austria. The aim of the progress coalition is to make Vienna fit for the future in all areas of life, which is also underlined by the newly created funding guidelines for inclusive places in kindergartens. These measures are intended to increase the participation of children with disabilities in elementary education.
NEOS club chairwoman Bettina Emmerling emphasizes that transparency and social justice are essential concerns in her politics. With the government monitor, Viennese people have the opportunity to track at any time which projects are being planned, implemented or have already been completed. Particularly spectacular is the creation of the FEM Med women's health center, which has offered around 5,000 consultations since it opened. This shows how seriously the city takes women's health care and the importance of access to information and support on medical issues. “FEM Med stands for social justice and a modern healthcare system,” continued Taucher.
Digital future of the city
Another highlight of the Vienna Progress Coalition is the “DigiPol – Digital Politics in Vienna” project, which was awarded the eAward 2024 for its innovative approach to political administration. This project enables digital processing of applications and significantly reduces paper consumption, which brings not only ecological but also economic benefits. According to the government monitor, numerous Viennese projects are already in use that are making Vienna a model city for digital sustainability.
For the people of Vienna, all of these developments are not only significant, but also tangible and transparent. All targets are visible on the government monitor website, giving citizens a direct insight into the city administration's progress. This shows that Vienna shines not only as one of the most livable cities, but also as a pioneer in social justice and digital innovation, as stated on the website Vienna city government is to be read.
