On March 17, 2025, the SPÖ Meidling started its election campaign at the Meidling market with an impressive start. Despite the changeable weather, over 80 committed activists gathered to present the district and local council candidates as well as the party's core demands. District leader Wilfried Zankl and local council chairman Jörg Neumayer were supported by city councilor Ulli Sima, who emphasized her vision of an improved quality of life for Meidling. She underlined the importance of citizen participation and named concrete projects that should sustainably change urban design. Zankl emphasized: “It is up to us to further improve the quality of life for the many in our district.” ots.at reported.
As part of the event, several central projects were presented, including the newly designed Reschgarten and the flourishing Meidlinger Markt, which are intended to serve as examples of how urban space can be actively and climate-friendly redesigned. Neumayer motivated the participants for the coming election campaign days and promised to inspire citizens about the positive developments in Meidling.
