Hermann Gindl remains mayor of Hohenruppersdorf
In a surprising turn of events, Hermann Gindl of the ÖVP was re-elected mayor of Hohenruppersdorf, despite his party losing seats. At the constituent meeting, which he opened himself, Gindl received 11 of the 15 votes. Four votes went to Harald Zagler from the FPÖ, which corresponds exactly to the number of seats the Freedom Party has in the local council, reports NOEN.at.
Despite the loss of the mandate and the non-unanimous election, Patricia Mayer was also confirmed as deputy mayor. The smooth course of the meeting and the successful election for Gindl show that the political landscape in Hohenruppersdorf remains stable, despite the current challenges for the ÖVP.
