Beer Party withdraws from politics – a new chapter begins!
The Beer Party has decided to radically change its political strategy: After failing miserably in the last National Council election in September 2024 and clearly missing the 4 percent hurdle, the party is now announcing that it will withdraw from classic political operations. In an official announcement, the beer party announced that it will no longer run in the upcoming elections in Vienna or other upcoming elections. This was described as a kind of “back to the roots”, like 5min.at reported.
The end of the Beer Party as a traditional political force is perceived by many as a momentous decision. In its letter, the party stated that it is closing the chapter as a classic political party and “moving on differently.” Nevertheless, the Beer Party emphasizes that it will remain critical and vigilant, especially in these challenging times. Finally, the party thanked all voters, supporters and members who have accompanied them in recent years. The reasons for the withdrawal are varied, including a weak election program and internal allegations against party leader Dominik Wlazny, who is accused of making many decisions on his own, such as oe24.at reported. These developments mark the temporary end of an era for the beer party.
