The Epitome GmbH, a Viennese start-up that wanted to draw attention to itself with innovative tooth hygiene products, is facing the end. A bankruptcy proceedings against the company were initiated on Thursday, which had to file for bankruptcy due to considerable financial difficulties. The start-up, which wanted to use 14 nano cameras, over 50 sensors and more than 300 data points in oral hygiene technology, is now confronted with a debt load of around 6 million euros, such as kosmo.at reported. The KSV1870 credit protection association has announced that the bankruptcy sequence was created due to technical difficulties in the development of the prototype "E1". Planned milestones were not achieved, which further tightened the company's financial situation. 86 employees are affected by the bankruptcy, and about 110 creditors are involved with a total damage of approx. 6 million euros, such as puls24.at reported.

Although the company is not interested in continuing, an investor could possibly initiate a change as part of the insolvency proceedings. The reporting and examination day statute is scheduled for February 11, 2025, and creditors can register their claims by January 28, 2025. The insolvency administrator Dr. Matthias Schmidt is entrusted with the handling, while the long-term future of the start-up remains in the suspension.
