Wiedner Hauptstraße celebrates reopening with a firm and local flair

in Wieden, Vienna, the population can look forward to: the Wiedner Hauptstraße will soon receive a new face after months of construction. The redesign that started in April includes comprehensive measures such as the renewal of the tracks, planting new trees and the construction of a cycle path that can be used in both directions. These changes not only ensure a more appealing environment, but also more security and comfort for pedestrians and cyclists.

To celebrate this significant progress, district chief Lea Halbwidl from the SPÖ invites you to an opening party on Wednesday, December 4th. From 2 to 6 p.m. the festival will take place at house number 52. Visitors can look forward to punch and chestnuts, while musical performances create a festive atmosphere. The shopping street association "Auf der Wieden" will also organize a "long shopping afternoon", which stimulates to explore and stroll in the local shops.

Public transport on Wiedner Hauptstraße will drive again five days before the festival, on Saturday, November 30th. Lines 1, 62 and the Badner Bahn return to their usual route with the first day of shopping on Advent. Here, stops such as Laurenzgasse, Johann-Strauß-Gasse and Resselgasse are also put into operation, which significantly improves the connection for residents.

The re -commissioning of the Wiedner Hauptstraße is of great importance for the residents, not only because of the improved infrastructure, but also because of the festive opening, which promotes cohesion and sense of community.
