Chat in the library: New meeting offer for all Viennese!

On October 11, 2024, a fresh and joint offer in the Simmeringer libraries will be launched: "Chatting in the library". This initiative is organized by the Vienna Health Promotion - WIG in cooperation with the libraries of the City of Vienna. Dennis Beck, Managing Director of Vienna Health Promotion, realizes that the exchange and communication between people are particularly important today, since loneliness is a growing problem in society.

The entire program includes weekly meetings that take place every Friday until a degree on December 20, 2024. The library on Leberberg and the library in the Simmering education center alternate. These meetings are intended for all ages and promote dialogue and getting to know new people. The experienced moderators from the Association of Sorgews lead the gatherings, and participation is possible free of charge and without prior registration.

The selected appointments offer predetermined topics that encourage discussions. On October 11th, for example, the topic of "Grätzel stories" will be the focus. The participants can not only listen, but also bring their own stories and experiences. This enables an open exchange and making new social contacts. The topics for the following meetings extend from "autumn stories" to other inspiring content.

The project "chatting in the library" is part of the "Healthy District" program and is carried out in cooperation with the Sorgenetz association. This initiative should not only promote the well -being of the participants, but also create a stronger community in the Simmering district.
