New momentum in the Neubuilding Castle: Simmering Cultural Association is planning diversity
The Simmering cultural association has undergone a comprehensive change, which promises new impulses and exciting plans for the future. The magnificent Neubau Castle, for which the association is responsible, will shine in a new light, and the association's members have great ambitions to implement the upcoming projects.
In a significant change of managementFranz Nauschniggelected as the new chairman. Back in March, he was given the task of carrying out a detailed review of the club. “During some checks I found things that weren’t right,” says Nauschnigg. After the former chairwoman resigned in July and his official election in August, he charted a new course for the club. He receives strong support fromEva Maria Hatzl, who remains as deputy, andUrsula Petrovic, who was also appointed to the operational management of the castle.
Nausschnigg's experiences and ambitions
The new chairman brings with him a wealth of experience. In 1982 he came to Simmering after studying in Graz. His previous service on the GBI Board of Directors has a positive impact on his new role. “Yes, it’s working out,” said Nauschnigg with a smile when asked how he manages to balance all of his projects. Looking back on a successful summer of events, he is particularly pleased that the Kaiserebersdorfer Kirtag was able to compensate for a loss from the previous year. He also reports a turn for the better: After a deficit in 2023, the club was able to make a profit again this year. This is also thanks to the subsidies from the district.
Planned events and activities
The future looks exciting, with numerous events in the starting blocks. Visitors can look forward to guided tours of the castle, some of which are barrier-free. In addition, dance evenings, openings by regional artists and a Halloween festival with exciting surprises are planned. A highlight will be the expanded Christmas market, which will delight the community this year in addition to other events.
A former medieval festival that was canceled due to bad weather will now take place October 25-27. The cultural association's new approach to working with local businesses and artists underlines the community orientation of the project and promises to make future events interesting and unique.
The New Building Palace at Otmar-Brix-Gasse 1 will continue to be a center of cultural activities. Further information about the events is available here www.schlossneugebaeude.wien to find. Anyone who needs information or registrations can contact the association via the email address kulturvereinsimmering@gmx.at.
There are also interesting reports for those who would like to find out about local developments. For example, a photo trip through historic Simmering or a report about the Simmering adventure farm, which fears for its future.
