Ilka Wiegrefe: Penzing's heroine against violence and bullying
ilka Wiegrefe is recognized by her son Béla as "heroine from Penzing". This honor, which initially seemed a bit overwhelming for the proud mother, is the result of a profound history of support and compassion. Béla, who found out about the district initiative, decided to nominate his mother spontaneously. "I just wanted to give her a stage to show what she does," explains the son.
When Ilka learned about the nomination, she was surprised and touched. "A great gift that he proposed me," she says of this warm gesture and reflects her role as an inspiring personality in the community.
commitment to violence prevention
ilka has been active in the non -profit association Team Present for over a decade, the aim of which is to promote violence prevention and to build an appreciative relationship culture. Together with a dedicated team, she conducts workshops in schools in Vienna and the surrounding area to support teachers and students in dealing with conflict and the establishment of empathy.
"Our goal is to grow up solidarity world citizens," emphasizes Ilka, emphasizing the focus on bullying. Team Present has already successfully certified hundreds of schools in Austria and teaches teachers how they can recognize bullying and intervene effectively.
The advantages of empathy
Scientific knowledge suggests that empathy not only strengthens social interaction, but can also have a positive impact on our health. "Empathy strengthens the immune system and extends life," explains Ilka. Studies support these views by showing that a respectful way of dealing is crucial for the development of the potential of students.
Team Present Schultens not only students and adolescents, but also teachers, whereby the programs are often offered free of charge, thanks to a variety of funding and support from the Austrian Health Fund (ÖGK). Ilka brings her message to schools with passion and conviction: "The work costs strength, but we get a lot back. It's just nice."
The program "Wiener Heldinnen", in which Ilka Wiegrefe was chosen as heroine, will be broadcast on "W24" on Sunday, November 10th, at 7 p.m.
The courage to honor and commitment to a non -violent and respectful society is characterized by Ilka Wiegrefe, and her story inspires many to fight for a better future.
