At the beginning of October, the takeover of the Lamarr department store was announced by Stumpf Development GmbH. The buyer paid 100.5 million euros to the insolvent Signa Group to acquire the unfinished construction site. This week there was finally movement on the site in new building, where new signs replaced the old construction site displays. The signs come from the new owner, who started with the aim of promoting the project after a long standstill.

The construction site itself has no longer been in operation since 2019 due to financial difficulties and the bankruptcy of Signa. Stefan Zöser, the managing director of Stumpf Development, cautiously commented on the plans for the location: "We will only inform about news in due course." It is unclear what type of use is intended for the shell, since the company has not yet provided specific information.

The district of Neubau has confirmed that talks between employees of the city, the district and the new owner are already being held. This indicates that a usage concept is in the works. According to information from the district, there will be new announcements regarding the future use of the construction site in the summer of 2025.

A few months ago there was already an action in which the construction site was presented as an advertising area. This happened in April, when the mass manager at the time tried to generate income from advertisements on the highly frequented Mariahilfer Straße. Nevertheless, the uncertain future of the Lamarr construction project remains a topic of conversation among the residents.
