New evidence in the event of terrorism: Taylor Swift fan remains in custody
A few weeks ago, the city of Vienna experienced a nerve -wracking situation when Taylor Swift's concerts were canceled due to suspicion of terrorism. The shock is still deep in many fans, especially after new stressful evidence has now been published in the form of chats against a 19-year-old suspect.During the investigation, the authorities came across numerous news that associated the suspect with extremist ideology. In particular, a contribution that contained a loyalty to the Islamic State (IS) terror network caused excitement. The suspect, who is also active on social media, expressed his calls to violence in a shocking way: “Fight for Allah. Go out and terrorize the unbelievers. If you have no weapons, go with a knife. If you don't even have a knife, crossing it. And if you can't, then spit on them.”
Extension of pre -trial detention
The situation continued to escalate when investigators discovered that the suspect was also in contact with a person in Germany. In confidential conversations, he is said to have indicated that “something big” will soon be done. In a later survey, he specifically named several potential goals for a possible attack, including a Shiite mosque, the Kurdish embassy and the said Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.
As a result of the newly received information, the retention of the suspect, who lives in Ternitz in the Neunkirchen district, was extended until November 13th. As the spokeswoman for the State Court, Christina Salzborn, reported, an application for release from prison by defender Werner Tomanek was rejected. The judges justified the decision with the risk of a crime meeting and the possibility that evidence could be falsified.
The developments around this case remain tense, and the authorities are doing everything they can to recognize potential threats in good time. The extent and explosiveness of this situation throw light on the challenges with which security forces are confronted, especially at major events.
