Armed robbery on sports field in Vienna-Hietzing: Police intervenes

On Sunday evening, November 24th, a dramatic incident occurred on a public sports field in Vienna-Hietzing. Four young people, aged 14, 16 and 18 and with Syrian citizenship, threatened three other young people with a knife to rob them of their brand clothing. This robbery escalated when one of the victims was persecuted in a tram and attacked there.

The perpetrators had brought together with other previously unknown accomplices and loudly and aggressive the clothing of the young people. While two of those affected fled, the third was persecuted from the gang to the tram. There he was put down and suffered minor injuries.

When arresting, an 18-year-old defended himself so violently that he injured two police officers who then could not continue their service.
