Southeast Tangent: Important driveway Favorites closed for renovation

This weekend, the Favorites' driveway will be temporarily closed to the Vienna Southeast Tangent (A23). This measure takes place as part of renovation work on the retaining walls. The closure is in prospect for Saturday and Sunday, although the highway cannot be accessed at least from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Wednesday, ASFINAG informed that the lighting is converted to energy-saving LED systems during this time.

In order to avoid possible noise pollution for residents, the work is not set for night hours. The renovation is part of a more comprehensive program that is expected to continue until the end of 2025. In the next few years, work will be carried out on several retaining walls in the direction of Kaisermühlen and Altmannsdorf to increase their stability and security.

The construction work on the retaining walls run according to plan, the motorway master's house reported. By the end of this year, both new edge beams and an additional intent shell are to be installed in the direction of Kaisermühlen. In 2025, the seal, the road surface and the edge beams on the Absbergbrücke will also be renewed. These modernization measures are necessary to ensure security and infrastructure on the A23.
