Price increase in rental apartments: Carinthia leads the ranking

The rental prices in Austria are in a remarkable upward trend. According to an analysis of "Immoscout24", the offer prices for apartments have increased in almost all federal states, with the exception of Styria and Upper Austria. The strongest increase was recorded in Carinthia, where rental prices rose by a whopping 16 percent.

In Carinthia, the square meter price fell from EUR 12.2 to 14.1 euros, while the average rent for a 70 square meter apartment remains below 1000 euros. In comparison to Tyrol, where the rental prices increased by 11 percent and the square meter price reached the highest value at 20 euros, Carinthia shows a remarkable price development.

Vienna is one of the most expensive regions, with an increase in rental prices by 11 percent to 19.2 euros per square meter. The Donaustadt district is particularly affected with an increase of 25 percent, where rents have risen to 21.8 euros per square meter. In the cheaper regions such as St. Pölten, Graz and Eisenstadt, rental prices are significantly lower and start at around 12.8 euros per square meter.

In Styria, however, there is a decrease in rental prices. Here the prices fell by 2 percent to EUR 12.4 per square meter, while in Upper Austria a slight decrease of 1 percent to 11.5 euros per square meter was determined.
