Tradition in Brigittenau: Rongits butcher shop is flourishing under new management
The Rongits butcher shop has been an institution in Brigittenau for over 40 years, and even under new management it remains an important part of the district. After the founders, Emmerich and Gerti Rongits, enjoyed their retirement, the Yousef family took over the reins and continues the legacy with passion.
For two years, Fathi Yousef, 29, together with his father, Omar Yousef, have been ensuring that the range remains the same and that loyal customers continue to receive their popular lunch menu, fresh sausage and ham. “It was a real stroke of luck for us that the Rongits supported us with the handover,” says Fathi Yousef. The transition was smooth, and the two families maintain a close friendship to this day.
Tradition and quality
The Rongits butcher shop has deep roots in the neighborhood. The company has built a solid foundation with products that are known for their quality. The Yousefs are not new to the industry; Omar Yousef has been self-employed since 2007 and brings years of experience to the new role. "We are proud that we can always offer customers high-quality products. We are not a discounter, but the local butcher," adds Fathi.
In times when many small businesses have to give up because there is a lack of successors, the Rongits butcher shop is strengthening its position. "Such establishments have become rare and I am happy to be part of them. We support the community by offering fresh, local products and also promoting the diversity of the food culture," emphasizes Yousef.
The opening hours of the butcher shop are customer-friendly: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In this way, the butcher shop ensures that Brigittenau residents are well looked after, even on the weekends.
