Währing 2025: New projects and challenges for the 18th district!

The 18th district of Währing in Vienna will face a number of significant challenges and changes in 2025, which were explained by district leader Silvia Nossek (Greens) in an interview. One prominent measure is the renovation of the football cages in Albert Dub Park, which are already showing their age. There are also improvements to be made to the lighting, some of which is broken or poorly placed. These initiatives are part of a larger plan that also includes the completion of a comprehensive cycle path from Pötzleinsdorf to the Gurtel, like MyDistrict reported.

Another central project concerns the renovations and maintenance that are to be carried out in the district in 2025. As part of these measures, Währingers must expect temporary parking losses as space is needed for construction site facilities. At the same time, the fifth main line will be laid to improve the water supply in Währing, which will involve a number of diversions and traffic disruptions, such as wien.ORF.at reported. The first construction work will start at the beginning of the year in Waldeckgasse and Scherffenberggasse.

The year 2025 will also be marked by various events in the district, including the popular Neighborhood Day and the summer festival in Währinger Park. These events are intended to strengthen the local community, even if the planning is known to bring challenges. Despite the inconveniences during the construction phases, Währing plans to continue its vital initiatives and projects to improve the quality of life of citizens.
