On June 28, 2025, the district party conference of the SPÖ took place in the St. Veit district on the Glan, in which Günter Leimkam was re -elected as district party chairman with overwhelming> 93.83 % of the delegate votes. The re-election was warmly approved by the SPÖ state party chairman Peter Kaiser and state manager Andreas Sucher. LeiMam was grateful for the trust and congratulated the also re -elected members of the district party executive board.
At the event, which also attracted numerous guests of honor, including President of the Landtag President Reinhart Rohr and State Councilor Daniel Fellner, the Victor Adler badge was also awarded. This highest award from the SPÖ received, among other things, Vice Mayor Herbert Gurmann, OPV Alois Brenner and Mayor Klaus Köchl. Leimam particularly praised Klaus Köchl's many years of political commitment, who remained loyal to the SPÖ for over 28 years and always adhered to its basic values.

In order to further consolidate the success of the SPÖ, Governor Peter Kaiser emphasized the urgency of a strong social democratic policy, especially in the challenging times that are currently in front of the party. The district party conference was also dedicated to the memory of Karl Bodner, a high -ranking official who died shortly before the event.
In addition, on March 12, 2025, the SPÖ Völkermarkt took place in the district party conference. Hermann Srienz was again elected there as district party chairman and received a vote of trust of 92.6 %. The Victor Adler Plaque was also awarded in Völkermarkt, this time to eleven personalities who had earned for social democracy through their many years of work.
