The Viennese lines start a new era of environmentally friendly mobility! From now on, a hydrogen bus from the Munich company Arthur is testing the 39A routes, and until March 26. This twelve -meter -long bus relies on a fuel cell with an output of 70 kW, which drives a powerful 250 kW electric motor. The test drives run on a demanding connection between Heiligenstadt and Sievering, which is perfectly suitable for checking the load capacity of the vehicle. Interested passengers can get in free of charge and experience up close what the future of bus mobility looks like, such as OE24 reported.

an outlook on hydrogen mobility

But that's just the beginning! From summer 2025, ten hydrogen buses from Caetanobus will be on line 39a, which is a great commitment to sustainability in Vienna's transport policy. In addition, the residents of the downtown Vienna can look forward to the first innovative battery hydrogen minibus from the manufacturer Rampini, who also use a so-called range extender. These buses will be on lines 2a and 3a and thus offer passengers an even more environmentally friendly alternative, as reports.
