Noah Vetter: From the unemployed to an apprentice at the tool manufacturer Blum in Vorarlberg

Youth unemployment in Vorarlberg recorded a significant increase in the first half of 2024, whereby Noah Vetter from Lustenau was one of the affected young people. Despite this challenge, the 16-year-old managed to find an apprenticeship and to master his way out of unemployment.

The current data of the AMS show that youth unemployment increased by 21 percent compared to the previous year, with 1578 unemployed young people under the age of 25 in Vorarlberg. Noah Vetter was also unemployed at times and is now working at Blum in Höchst as a tool construction technician in teaching, where he finds joy in mechanical work.

His school days were characterized by disinterest and refusal to do school, which led to the consideration of his family due to a lack of school leaving certificate. Through an intensive program at Integra, he successfully completed his compulsory school leaving certificate, which improved his chances on the job market.

Despite the initial concerns about his gap in the CV, the overall picture and the commitment of Noah was decisive for Robert Kaufmann, the training manager at Blum. The positive changes in Noah's personality show that a school certificate does not necessarily reflect the entire career of a young person.

The story of Noah Vetter is an example of the fact that commitment, personal commitment and willingness to change can ultimately pave the way to success. The case illustrates that there is a personal story behind every individual career, which cannot always be fully recorded by formal educational qualifications. Noah's path shows that it is never too late to take a new, successful path.
