Weinsteit Weinstein closes Hohenems: Focus on Dornbirn and online!
The Weinstein Finewine wine shop today announced the closure of its location in Hohenems. This happened at the beginning of March on social media. Owner Sebastian Spiegel explains that the company will concentrate on the main location in Dornbirn as well as on online trading and B2B sales. The last employee was deducted at the end of October 2023 because the economic location for the Hohenems location was not viable. The reasons for the closure are increasing costs, a weak customer frequency and the lack of willingness to buy.
Despite the upcoming closure, events such as wine tastings and Christmas parties took place until the end. The property, which is located in the listed Hirschfeldhaus in Mondscheingasse, is now offered as a rental property. There are already interested parties, but there are still details about renting.
The location and its offer
In the Hohenems location, the wine shop and vinotheque offered around 500 top wines from important wine regions of the world. Customers were able to experience open wines and "flights" for tasting and had the opportunity to cork bottles directly from the shelf and enjoy them on site. Culinary offers included small dishes, mainly from the region, and seasonal specialties such as Prosciutto and Filones by Salumeria d´osvaldo as well as carefully mature Bregenzerwald precious fabric from cheeseSCASPAR. For special occasions, a winter offer with fondue, supplemented by suitable wine accompaniment, was also provided. Additional support for catering requests provided Walter Josef Fröwis.
relocation to the digital world
The closure of the Hohenems location is part of a larger trend in the wine trade, which is characterized by digital technologies and e-commerce. According to Weinhausmarkt.de has many advantages, including the convenience, orders at any time and anywhere, as well as a larger selection than in traditional shops. Consumers also benefit from information offers that will help you make informed purchase decisions.
Nevertheless, online trading also brings challenges, such as the difficulty of choosing wines without prior trying out. In order to counteract this, dealers are increasingly using online competitions and tasting sets as orientation aids. Also innovative approaches such as virtual wine tastings and the use of artificial intelligence for personalized recommendations are also important.
The decision of Weinstein Finewine to focus more on online trading illustrates the need for wine stores to adapt to the changing market conditions. The closure in Hohenems marks a change that opens up new opportunities for inpatient trade in Dornbirn and the company's digital sales strategy.
With this realignment, the location in Dornbirn remains open and is considered sufficient for inpatient trade. The focus on digitization and the inclusion of social media is becoming increasingly crucial for success in the wine market, not least to win new wine lovers.
