Donut campaign: secure a delicious surprise for the carnival season!

Next February 26th it's that time again: the big one Donut promotion by VOL.AT is carried out. Five lucky winners have the opportunity to surprise their work colleagues, classmates or the morning gymnastics group with the well-known “foolishly good” donuts. These treats are delivered fresh from the INTERSPAR bakeries in Dornbirn, where up to 6,000 donuts are baked every day to meet the high demand during the carnival season. On Shrove Tuesday alone, an incredible 20,000 donuts are produced, with great attention to quality: only Austrian flour is used and no palm oil is used. Master baker Hans Jürgen Kölly also emphasizes that the filling has a high fruit content, which helps reduce sugar. The most popular is the apricot donut, which most Austrians say is their favorite.

Carnival: A festival full of tradition

Carnival, also known as Carnival, is not only a culinary delight, but also a celebration that is deeply rooted in culture. Many people look forward to the foolish days when public festivities took place in streets, taverns and clubs. The origins of Carnival go back to pagan times, when winter was driven away by joyful celebrations and spring was welcomed. This is also the reason for the colorful masks and costumes worn today, many of them humorously designed to poke fun at famous people or politicians. How Rick Steve's Community Notes, Carnival traditionally began on November 11th at 11:11 a.m. and reaches its climax with the ball season highlights in the days before Ash Wednesday.

The carnival season is a spectacle that brings community and joy. It represents a break with everyday life and offers people the opportunity to overcome social classes and celebrate together. Whether buying a donut or celebrating a parade, the tradition connects generations and cultures in a colorful mix of fun and taste.
