Big rush in Bregenz: New action discount store opening soon!
A new chapter in retail is opening in Bregenz: The discounter Action is opening its first branch in the Uniqa Center, in the former Hervis store, on Thursday, March 6th. Action has been moving in as a tenant since January and preparations for the grand opening are in full swing. The store promises to offer more choice than surrounding stores currently do, with over 6,000 items across 14 different product categories, including home goods, home improvement and fashion. The first customers are expected at the door from 9 a.m., and many are already eagerly awaiting the opening, as both VOL.AT and Headtopics report.
The sales area of around 970 m² is almost completely furnished. Shopping carts are waiting while the last items are being sorted. Customers are showing keen interest: “I think it’s cool that there’s an action here,” said two young girls. Older customers also hope that the new opening will provide valuable competition to existing discounters such as Tedi, which could improve the selection for shoppers. Action's concept, based on weekly changing offers, could lead to attracting not only existing customers but also new buyers. Boyko Tchakarov, Managing Director of Action Austria, emphasizes the importance of this opening for the company and further expansion in Austria.
Opening offensive in Austria
With this new branch, Action is expanding its network in Austria and increasing the number of jobs created with each opening. Since launching in Austria in 2015, Action has already opened 117 branches and employs over 2,400 people. Action pursues a dynamic concept that ensures high customer traffic - more than 18 million people visit an Action branch in Europe every week. To the delight of Bregenz customers, the new location will certainly soon become a popular shopping destination as Action continues to expand rapidly, according to Headtopics.
