700 euros for seniors: community foundation supports Grips Group in Laupheim
A gratifying event for the seniors in Laupheim: The Laupeim community foundation has given the Grips Group of the Diakonie Biberach over 700 euros. This financial support is not only recognition for the volunteer group leaders, but also an important step to secure the offers for seniors in the region in the long term.
The Grips groups, which were launched by Diakonie Biberach together with the German Red Cross (DRK), offer a program that aims to help older people stay independent and active as long as possible. In these groups, memory and movement exercises are offered based on the scientifically sound SIMA training program ("independent in old age").
commitment to seniors
The focus of the grips groups is to promote the intellectual and physical fitness of the participants. Scientific studies have shown that with increasing intellectual activity, memory functions such as the information processing speed and the ability to remember can be improved in old age. In addition, the movement exercises promote general mobility, balance and coordination - everything in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
Gerhard Bayer from the Laupeim community foundation commented on the donation: "We are very pleased that the seniors from Laupheim are lively accepting grips. Among the new group leaders are Petra Jehle and Monika Schickler, who bring a fresh wind to the group.
Andrea Falke, who has been heading the existing Grips group in the Protestant parish hall for two years, thanked for the valuable support of the community foundation on behalf of the Diakonie and the participants. She emphasizes how important it is that the participants feel comfortable in the courses and can actively work for their health together. The quality of the offers is further increased by continuous training in the group lines.
courses for seniors
The groups meet every two weeks on Tuesday afternoon in the Evangelical parish hall of Laupheim. Interested seniors who want to participate can contact Andrea Falke directly on 0175 /9965917 or visit the city of Laupheim's website in order to obtain more information. The next course unit starts on January 14th - an ideal time for everyone who wants to stay active.
This initiative clearly shows how important the promotion of health offers for seniors is. The support from the Laupheim community foundation is a sign of commitment to the well -being of the older generation in the region.
