Vorarlberg moved: 10,000 kilometers for light reached into the dark!
In Vorarlberg, an impressive goal was achieved: The challenge for "light into the dark" managed to cover 10,000 kilometers within a week. This distance corresponds to the air line from Austria to Los Angeles and shows a remarkable solidarity of the people in the region. Everyone could participate, whether young or old, sporty or not. Whether on foot, by bike, in a rollator or even in a wheelchair - every movement was added and was added to the total route.
The action was not only a call for movement, but also a sign of support for charitable purposes. On Sunday morning the magical number of 10,000 kilometers was cracked, and the joy about it was great. ORF moderator Roman Neugebauer, who was also coordinator of the Challenge, was enthusiastic: "Together we showed what Vorarlberg can move!"
donation of 20,000 euros for light in the dark
The Gunz company, the initiators of the Challenge, have decided to convert the kilometers traveled back into a generous donation. In total there are 20,000 euros that will benefit the non -profit organization "Light into the Dark". Part of this donation will also serve the Jupident Foundation in Schlins, which is committed to promoting children and adolescents with special needs.
The foundation attaches great importance to inclusion and supports affected young people in participating in social life. Important building blocks such as child protection and the strengthening of self -determination are promoted here. Your diverse measures and offers aim to reduce barriers and support individual development, whereby they are active at various locations in Vorarlberg.
The entire week of movement began on November 4 in Mäder when the participants ran from the Gunz company headquarters to the school home Mäder. This facility was in 2023 project partners for "light in the dark", and the donation income there enabled the redesign of a sensor room for severely disabled students. This type of direct aid projects shows how important such actions are and how much good in the region can be achieved with common commitment.
The Jupident Foundation, which looks after around 150 children and adolescents, plays a central role in this commitment. With around 170 committed employees, valuable work is done there to promote the development and integration of the youngest members of our society. With their movement, the participants of the Challenge not only promoted their fitness, but also actively contributed to a better future for many children and young people and supported their life -changing measures.
The 10,000 kilometer challenge for "light into the dark" shows impressively what can be achieved for others through cooperation and commitment. This makes it clear how important such community campaigns are for social cohesion and what importance they have for the support of needs in the region. It remains exciting to see which next steps the organizers and supporters will take in the future.
